Solving the Celtics On the Road

Monday, May 12th, 2008

As I’m sure many of you who have been watching the NBA playoffs have noticed, the Boston Celtics seem to have a Jekil and Hyde situation going when it comes to Home and Away games. The C’s are a perfect 6-0 at home, and yet are an equally perfect 0-4 on the road. The Sportsblahg […]

5 Things We Want In Tiger Woods 2009

Friday, May 9th, 2008

It looks like Tiger Woods 2009 is set to be a pretty solid title, at least according to the folks at Gamespot. While we think that it is cool to have Hank Haney tell us why we suck; the Sportsblahg wants to see some more things added before we hop on board:
1. Spaz-O-Meter: This feature, […]

Best Ad Slogans for Boston

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

If you haven’t seen this article regarding the Patriots still trying to trademark the “19-0″ slogan, despite going 18-1 last season. Well it got me thinking of what other slogans would be good for other Boston sports team:

“1986 World Series Champions”
“The Tim Duncan Era”
“The Hartford Whalers, Team of the 21st Century”
“Honesty, Integrity, Patriots”
“The Boston Bruins, […]

Seeing as today is April 1st, typically known to the jokester world as April Fools Day, I thought it would be funny to write some completely bogus news story and try and circulate it around the internet. But then I realized something, have you looked at the top stories in Major league baseball lately? I […]

The Hot List: Fields Open (In Hawaii)

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Week 2 of the LPGA tour and FINALLY the hotness comes out!! Despite the fact that we had co-champions this week (a hot list FIRST), don’t be fooled because the hotness was in full effect this week, probably because it was warm in Hawaii (as opposed to EVERYWHRE else).

OH MY GOD!!! Have you heard!?!? There’s this new TV show premiering on TBS tonight!
You probably haven’t heard about it. It’s called Frank TV.
Oh, sorry. I guess you just wanted to supress that memory of the never-ending promos during the Division Series and the NLCS.
If this incredibly awkward interview between Frank Caliendo and the folks of the […]

Separated At Birth (part II)

Bobby Kielty (Red Sox) & Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights)

One blasts first pitch fastballs over the fence in pinch hit appearances. The other blasts fools who touch his quasi-girlfriend Tyra Collette (Adrianne Palicki). Granted they’re 12 years apart age wise and both born in different areas (Plemons in Texas, Kielty in California).
One is an […]

Great Moments in Marathon Broadcasting

Monday, November 5th, 2007

Yesterday morning, during WNBC’s coverage of the New York City Marathon, all seemed right in the world of long-distance running. A former champion won the women’s race, and the men’s pack was led by a Kenyan.
Then, NBC Sports’ Al Trautwig made this jaw-dropping observation:
“The lead men’s pack is starting to look like an NBA franchise.”
The […]
