It was a nailbiter last night, but there are five games left to go for the Patriots - and that means five more chances to ruin that perfect record. In my opinion, there are just five teams that could beat the Patriots this season - and none of them are actually in the NFL.
5. The All-Madden Team: Granted, this would essentially be the Patriots playing themselves, but rather than having Donte Stallworth line up with Randy Moss, it would be TO (without the attitude of course, since video game characters do not possess the ‘tude). Likely a good struggle, but you just can’t beat the All-Madden team (especially the All-Madden ‘94 team with Emmit Smith).
4. The Boston Red Sox: Because let’s be honest, if this were a game of fan loyalty and passion, the Red Sox would win every time. Besides, I hear Dice-K runs a mean keeper option - and I’ll bet Josh Beckett could throw the ball from end zone to end zone if necessary.
3. The Little Giants: So they might have a problem blocking Richard Seymour and Ty Warren. They DO have the Annexation of Puerto Rico to fall back on, and trust me, no matter how hard Bill Belichick preps, there’s just no defense for that play.
2. The Tecmo Bowl L.A. Raiders: Two words, Bo Jackson. As we all know, Bo knows how to run around aimlessly for the entire quarter before scoring a touchdown. The key to this matchup would be time of possession. Who needs a quarter-long drive when you can have a quarter-long play?
1. Team Felcher & Sons: Outside the box/paradigm thinking plus the “Office Athlete of the Century” gives this squad a formidable chance of beating up on Tom Brady and Company. Besides, I’m not sure that Randy Moss knows that if “you kill the joe, you make some moe.” I’m sure Triple T would school him - in the office, and on the field.
